Financial Realities
The First Parish of Sudbury is supported by the generosity of its members and friends. Your contributions are crucial to sustain our programs and ministries.
Each spring, a Stewardship Sampaign invites supporters to make a financial pledge for the coming fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). This year, our Stewardship Campaign kicks off on Sunday, March 4, 2012, and we hope to have received financial commitments from all our members and friends by April 1. What you give, and how much, is confidential. Whether the amount you pledge is small or large, your commitment is appreciated.
The
Fair Share Giving Guide is designed to help you consider what pledge might be right for you.
Adjusted Income Percent of Income Dollar Amount
up to $50,000 1% $500
$75,000 2% $1,500
$100,000 3% $3,000
$150,000 4% $6,000
$200,000 6% $12,000
Our Goal
Our Stewardship Goal this year is to achieve an overall 20% increase in pledge revenue. This is a significant increased but vitally needed. It will enable us to sustain our programs with no deficit financing. Just as important, it will enable First Parish to become a UUA "Fair Compensation" congregation, including offering modest cost-of-living adjustments to our dedicated staff (who haven't seen COLAs since 2008), providing them with life and disability insurance, and giving them allowances for professional education and development at the UUA recommended levels.
Economic Facts
- It costs approximately $800 per day to operate our organization.
- 127 households pledge a percentage of their income to First Parish.
- Our budget for the current fiscal year is $308,000.
- Rental and outside income provides only a small fraction of our revenue.
- First Parish receives no tax subsidies or government assistance.
What this means is that keeping First Parish healthy is all up to you. You will be contacted by a volunteer Steward who will invite you to make a pledge. Thank you for being generous!
