Calendar2011-2012 Schedule for Friendship FindersThis small group offers our 1 ½ to 4 -year-olds the chance to learn about our UU faith simply by having fun with their friends. They will be doing a unique program that includes a variety of age-appropriate and engaging activities. While their weekly themes are simplified highlights of our UU principles and values, the goal of this curriculum is simply to offer structure that empowers each child to feel comfortable and confident about coming to First Parish. With great picture books, simple songs, fun activities, and coloring pages to scribble on, our Friendship Finders will be having a fabulous time! Gary will lead a book discussion group starting January 8 from 7:00-8:30 pm in the Brackett Room using Huston Smith's classic The World's Religions, an eight week tour of Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam and the Primal Traditions. The class is free and open to the public, but you might want to add this book to your Christmas list if you want to participate. Please note: we will be using the non-illustrated version of Smith's book. The pictures are nice, but the text is much abbreviated in the illustrated edition.
